National

My girls performed at nationals and did an awesome job. It was a fun time to bond as a team and end the season.  Honestly I miss it.  I know Its only been 3 weeks since cheer ended, but it really was one of the best experiences of my life and I am counting down the days until next season starts.  Yes I know this sounds a little crazy considering my last few posts.  But the truth is, when all is said and done, when the drama has passed and I look back, I love each and every one of those girls and I wouldn't change any experience I have with them, good or bad.  Love you Angels-  :)

Island Park

Tyler's work friends invited us to Island Park for a weekend.  It was a blast meeting new fun people, being out in the beautiful park, snowmobiling, sledding off the roof of the cabin, snowboaring over fires,  shooting, and playing games.  Thanks for the invite- here are some pics
The cabin in the gated community- it was awesome
The girls
T
The snow was so deep they were able to dig tunnels around underneath it.  They they had races crawling through the tunnels! Some people got stuck

Tired

Yep, I'm tired, and if my last post didn't say it all,  Cheer is the main culprit.  I love coaching, but sometimes I just get frustrated.  Sometimes I feel like I give everything to those girls for a measly paycheck and I don't think they appreciate or realize it. I spend more hours outside of the gym working on cheer stuff unpaid, than I ever do in the gym. I lose nights of sleep worrying about the girls, and I spend my days trying to figure out the best ideas, choreography, stunts, activities, etc for the team.  I worry about them growing as athletes, as people, and as women in the world, and sometimes I just feel like a parent to 19 teenage girls. It is very tiring.
Its getting to be the end of the season, and I am ready for it.  I LOVE  coaching, and I know I'll be ready for the season to start again,  but for now I am tired and ready for a break.
All I need now is to get the Nationals mess all cleared up  (I think that has added a few wrinkles to my face, and taken a few years off my life, Seriously),  get people happy- have a banquet, and be done until mid May when it all comes round again.  I guess I'll just need to keep repeating... I think I can,  I think I can,  and hopefully I'll make it through.  Wish me Luck-
** But you gotta say, my girls are pretty darn cute!

Dear Cheer Moms

** Last season I my friend and fellow coach Amie Liston posted a message to all cheer moms-  I now understand how she felt when posting it. This is my personal message to all cheer moms out there.**

Dear Cheer Moms-
**I am the coach.  Yes I know you want to be in control, but I AM THE COACH, if you want to be a coach go start a gym.
**I make all my decisions in the best interest of the entire team.  I am sorry if you aren't happy with the decision I made.  I did what was best for the majority of the girls.  I always do.
**If you are unhappy with a decision I have made, come talk to ME about it.  There is no need for you to go over my head to the gym owner.  Yes he is my boss,  Yes he likes me, and Yes he is on MY side.
**It is true, your daughter is great,  and Yes she does an awesome job.  No she doesn't deserve to be treated any differently than any of the other daughters on the team.
**I am a coach,  not a babysitter, not a disciplinarian, not a fundraiser, not a parent and not a Shrink.  I will do my best to help your daughters through whatever they are going through, but do not expect me to be their parent.  It just doesn't work that way.
** We are not your daughter's friends cheer team, we are not the team that your cousins friend is on,  we are OUR VERY OWN team.  Compare all you want, but I WILL NOT do something because thats what _______________ (fill in the blank with any other cheer team)  did.  Sorry
**Please understand that I do my best as a coach .  Understand that I work very hard to keep everything fair, and inexpensive, and fun, for every single girl and parent who is a part of this program.  Respect my decisions.  I Respect you, and I respect your daughter. I would hope the same in return.

- Love-  Your cheer coach

** DISCLAIMER** I have had a very low drama season with lots of amazing parents who are supportive and respectful.  It is just a few that get me really frustrated sometimes.

Loving the New ward

Thanks Laurels of our new ward, for the "heart attack."  It really does help us to feel welcome.

House Pics

I haven't posted pictures of our new house because It just isn't done yet.  We still have some painting to do, furniture to build, and tons of decorations to be hung.  But... I figured that might take a while,  So here is some pics of our house.  I am not a good photographer-  so if you really want to see the house, it would be best to come visit.  It a split level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home and we love it.
Front of the House
This is the front room and the front door, where you walk in.  I have more to hang on the wall,  Tyler is making a black entertainment center, and we plan on a nice flat screen to sit on top of it.

This is the Kitchen and dining room area, just up the stairs when you walk in- Still looking for some wall hangings, any suggestions?
This is our bedroom- again not much on the walls,  any suggestions?
Connected to the bedroom is the master bathroom-  its small, but it works for us
This is the small room down stairs,  we are planning on a small couch and table, for this area- that'll be a while,  for now is the music room
Downstairs bathroom,  the shower is hiding, but it has one
Spare bedroom, the pictures look bad but its pretty nice.
THis is the view from our backtyard.  The yard is landscaped-  I plan on fixing it :)

What I didn't take pictures of is our office-  its got a lot of work to be done, and the two car garage which may or may not be the best part of the house.

So this is our humble abode-  seriously come visit and see it for real, its much nicer in person.

I Love my Boys

Its true, I have some cute boys living at my house!  Gotta love em
I think my Puppy needs a hair cut!

State Champs!

My Girls took First at the Utah Championships this weekend!  Needless to say, I'm a proud mama-  here are some pics.

Who Takes Care of Me

Just wanted to give a shout out to my hubby for taking care of me.  I tend to forget things, lose things, etc, and thank goodness I have a husband who realizes this because if it wasn't for him, things could get really bad.
In the last few months I have...
1. Left my entire purse at Einsteins Bagels
2. Left my Debit Card at PF Changs
3. Lost my wedding ring (found)
4. Lost my Glasses (not found)
5. Lost my camera (found)
6. Left my keys in the SLC temple and didn't realize it until I had made the hike to clear behind the conference center where I was parked
7. and Lastly-  Left our new video camera at Training Table in Layton- (found and Recovered)
** These are only the things I can remember at the moment,  I know there are many more incidents I can't recall.

All of things have occured when Tyler was not with me.  Why?  What makes me forget things?  My friend Natalie and I have a theory-  we are so busy worrying about everything we are doing next, that we forget the things we are doing right now.  Whatever the cause,  My Husband Tyler makes sure I have everything I need, and that I don't forget anything whenever he is with me.  He even packs my purse before we go anywhere.
I'm a lucky girl, and I am so glad I have him to take care of me.  Because if he didn't, I don't know what I'd do.  Love you Babe-
